Entering Chile

Almost all international flights to Chile arrive at Santiago International Airport. (For information about Santiago public transport and accommodation see the web site of the previous workshop: Santiago Numérico II.) Flights to La Serena leave from the national terminal of the same airport.

Reciprocity tax
Citizens from countries which require visa for Chilean citizens (USA, Australia, Canada, Mexico) must pay a reciprocity tax before going through International Police. The counters are clearly signed. We recommend to carry cash (US dollars), though some credit cards are also accepted. The current amounts are:

 
Location of the workshop
The workshop will take place in La Serena, about 500 km north of Santiago, in the Centro Vacacional La Serena (map). In the same complex we have booked accommodation for the speakers. The airport is about 5 km east of downtown La Serena and it is best to take a taxi or a transfer bus to the Centro Vacacional.
